Face Concerns
Book AppointmentDouble Chin
Many people find that over time that can accumulate in the compartments under the chin giving rise to a loss of the normal chin-to-neck angle and the appearance of a double chin.
This is often due to genetics and many people find that however much they lose weight, it is very difficult to change this stubborn area.
Our Solution:
Over the last few years, injections have been developed to break down the fat into harmless components excreted naturally in the body.
Many of these first-generation injections tend to cause much greater side effects than the second-generation products that are now in the process of being licensed.
Owen uses a third-generation treatment called DesoFace (or DesoBody for the rest of the body) containing deoxycholic acid, acting as a detergent for fat cells which are broken down. This is administered with a cannula meaning that there is only a single injection point. Owen can carefully fan the product using the cannula, ensuring care is taken to stay within the fat compartment to reduce complications. The risk of serious complications from the procedure is very low, typically below 0.05%.
Fat dissolving injections in the chin/submental area are often combined (on another treatment date) with dermal fillers to enhance the chin projection and now Morpheus8 radiofrequency treatment which provides excellent long-term jawline definition. This is due to the skin tightening and fat remodelling and can be used in combination with the fat-dissolving injections.

Dark circles are common due to several factors, partially genetic or lifestyle, affecting people of all ages and ethnicities.
Beneath the eyes, the skin is much thinner, allowing blood vessels to become more prominent, causing a dark appearance. This becomes worse with environmental factors such as sleep deprivation, alcohol or smoking. Shadows are accentuated under the eyes, making a person look exhausted and contributing to looking aged. Also, the loss of natural fillers and connective tissue (collagen and elastin) cause a loss of volume around the eye leading to the tear trough becoming more pronounced.
Our Solution:
During the consultation, Owen assesses the underlying cause of the dark circles, discusses relevant changes that could be made to your lifestyle to alleviate the appearance.
Owen considers use of specific dermal fillers for teartrough in his London and Swansea aesthetic clinic, also now using nucleotide injections which stimulate growth of collagen and soft tissue, reducing the appearance of dark circles over the course of weeks.
These have the additional advantage of not leading to swelling in the affected area which can be a problem if there was minimal volume loss in the teartrough itself. Patients with additional volume loss and grooves which are noticeable, then teartrough dermal fillers will tend to be a better choice.
This reduces pigmentation and shadowing, allowing you to appear more youthful and feel radiant.
In the teartrough, dermal fillers last quite a considerable time as there is little muscular movement, often patients can expect around a year before considering retreatment although at some can be less and some more. With nucleotide injections several treatment can be required to obtain an optimal effect.
Teartrough dermal fillers are often used in conjunction with cheek augmentation and rejuvenation. Indeed cheek enhancement with fillers is often used as a first-line treatment before considering whether any additional teartrough procedure would be necessary.
It is essential to have a bespoke and thorough assessment with an advanced aesthetic practitioner and Owen is always delighted to share his knowledge and experience with clients to obtain the best result for them.

Marionette lines are the vertical lines that extend from the corners of the mouth down towards the chin, and they are a common concern as we age. These lines can create a downturned appearance, often making you look older or more tired than you actually feel. The primary underlying cause of marionette lines is the loss of volume in the prejowl area, which is the region on either side of the chin. As we age, the natural fat pads that once supported this area diminish, leading to sagging skin and the formation of these deep lines.
Our Solution:
At Infinity Aesthetics in London, our approach to treating marionette lines is centred around the careful replenishment of lost volume using dermal fillers. These fillers are designed to mimic the body’s natural hyaluronic acid, adding volume and smoothing out wrinkles to create a refreshed and rejuvenated appearance. The result is a softer, more youthful look that enhances your natural features without appearing overdone.
To ensure a comfortable and safe treatment experience, we use a cannula—a thin, flexible tube—instead of traditional needles. The use of a cannula significantly reduces the risk of bruising and swelling, as it allows for fewer entry points and minimises trauma to the surrounding tissues. This technique also enables us to deliver the dermal fillers with greater precision, ensuring that the results are both natural-looking and long-lasting.

Ageing is an irreversible process. Multiple factors contribute to fine lines and wrinkles as we get older, resulting in aging skin. Around the eyes is one of the most common places where we show our age.
Crow’s feet are a common ageing sign and there are various treatment options.
Aging is an unavoidable aspect of the aging process. A variety of factors contribute to fine lines and wrinkles as we age, creating a ‘perfect storm’ for aged skin. Around the eyes is one of the most common places where we show our age.
Treating crow’s feet is simple to do.
What are crows feet?
Those fine lines around the eye area are referred to as “crow’s feet”. These tiny wrinkles might also be known as “smile lines” since they form when we grin. These little wrinkles may not be problematic when you’re grinning, but they are definitely detrimental when they become permanent characteristics of your face.
People usually seek advice when wrinkles around their eyes become visible when they are not moving. These are known as “static wrinkles,” and they are always visible. If these little creases only appear when a person smiles, they are called “dynamic wrinkles” and treatment can prevent them deepening or becoming static.
How to eliminate crows feet
Despite the release of new products, therapies, and technologies, one option consistently tops the list for treating crow’s feet: Botox. This injectable is both simple and safe (it takes around 15 minutes per procedure with no downtime) and is an licensed, prescription-only treatment for wrinkles. It is very effective, but it will require ongoing sessions for maintenance.
Hyaluronic acid is used in dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane and Maili to moisturize and lubricate the skin, making wrinkles appear less harsh. These injections are another popular choice for eliminating fine lines around the eyes. Touch-up procedures with dermal fillers are also necessary.
Finally Morpheus8 is a new and amazing treatment using radiofrequency energy to resurface lines which have formed and tighten the skin around the eyes.

Facial volume loss can cause a young, full face to become older and thin. Chubby cheeks seen in young people are not always due to weight gain, but rather represent a firm, smooth face that has not yet experienced any problems in soft-tissue health.
A glance at the big picture of facial volume loss
As the face loses fat, the skin can sag and lose elasticity. Wrinkles may appear as the soft tissue beneath the eyes shrinks. Facial volume loss may make individuals appear older, but there are many ways to combat the underlying causes of the condition – reduced collagen production, for example.Over the last 10 years aesthetic medicine has changed focus from individual areas of the face to look at the reasons behind ageing, including significant facial volume loss.
Treatment options
Dermal fillers are the most important medical treatment for volume loss. The most common are made of hyaluronic acid. A naturally occurring substance found in the body that provides skin elasticity as a result of its water retention capabilities, hyaluronic acid is cross linked in the laboratory, extending the duration of effect to over 24 months in some cases, and injected carefully to increase the volume of facial areas that have lost volume.
Sculptra®, a polylactic acid-based substance, is one of the most famous collagen boosters. Sculptra® is utilized to improve deep nasolabial folds, fill in laugh lines, and enhance lip volume.
The hyaluronic acid filler Radiesse may be used to treat deep facial wrinkles, nasolabial folds, and the backs of the hands.
At Infinity Aesthetics, we utilise only FDA-approved fillers like Juvederm Voluma, Belotero Volume, and Restylane Lyft to increase volume in different facial regions, or Restylane Defyne and Belotero Intense to reduce deep marionette lines and nasolabial folds.

Forehead and frown lines are an early sign of ageing as over time the skin loses its ordinary connective tissue support with decreasing levels of collagen and elastin.
Muscles of expression around the face that regularly move throughout the day start to cause small lines, creases, and wrinkles.
Initially, the wrinkles and creases are dynamic (occurring only with muscle movement) but eventually become fixed, even when the face is relaxed. These wrinkles appear at right angles to the muscles’ action and tend to occur in characteristic sites. Wrinkles are a distinctive feature of ageing as can be seen by looking at someone of advanced age who has deep fixed folds.
Most people develop horizontal forehead lines with vertical lines around the nose bridge (the glabellar), often called “11 lines”. This is in conjunction with crow’s feet last lines at the edge of the eyes.
Our Solution:
Horizontal forehead lines and glabellar lines respond excellently to wrinkle-relaxing injections. However, only doctors can appropriately assess and prescribe wrinkle relaxing injections, requiring a careful medical examination to ensure that there are no contraindications and appropriate for every individual patient.
Dr Thomas undertakes an appropriate assessment providing a bespoke treatment plan depending on the patient’s anatomy and gender. This requires a careful evaluation of how each muscle works, including the size and shape of the muscle and the forehead itself. He uses small amounts of the injection just underneath the skin to relax the muscle. This blocks release of nerve transmitter to the muscle, beginning to weaken it gradually.

Formation of jowls around the lower face make us look much older than we feel.
It is due to a combination of factors including laxity of the supporting ligaments around the mid-to lower face and skin laxity and loss of connective tissue.
This makes some of the fat compartments and soft tissue slide forwards producing a heavy look with squaring of the face and the formation of a fold in the lower face (the pre-jowl sulcus).
Our Solution:
Treatment of jowls is with several different methods.
Dermal fillers are helpful to provide enhanced definition to the jawline and fill in the pre-jowl sulcus, giving a smooth contoured jawline. Using techniques learned from the top injectors in North America, Dr Thomas utilises a technique to support the soft tissues along the jawline and give a lifted appearance.
For patients with heavier jowls, dermal fillers alone may not be sufficient and in that case, radiofrequency treatment is necessary to tighten the skin and soft tissues. This is with Morpheus8 or Forma which are 2 different types of treatment that tighten skin and remodel subcutaneous fat while increasing collagen and elastin production for a long-lasting result and alternative to surgical facelifts. You can see more on these amazing treatments at Morpheus8 and our new non-invasive treatment Forma which tightens skin without any needles!

What are Smoker’s Lines?
Smoker’s lines, also known as lipstick lines, are small vertical creases and wrinkles that form along the upper lip. These lines typically run perpendicular to the border of the lip and become more pronounced with age. While commonly referred to as smoker’s lines due to their prevalence among smokers, these wrinkles can affect anyone, particularly older individuals. The condition tends to be more common in women than men, partly because women generally lack the larger hair follicles that men have, which can provide structural support to the skin around the lips.
Smoker’s lines, or lipstick lines, are a common concern that can significantly impact one’s appearance, making the lips and surrounding skin look older and less smooth. Understanding the causes of these lines and the available treatments is essential for effectively addressing this condition. In London, Dr Owen Thomas offers a range of advanced aesthetic treatments at his Cavendish Square clinic to reduce the appearance of smoker’s lines and restore a more youthful look. Whether opting for dermal fillers, Botox, laser resurfacing, microneedling, chemical peels, PRF therapy, or topical treatments, the goal is to smooth out wrinkles, enhance skin texture, and achieve natural-looking rejuvenation. Under the expert care of Dr Owen Thomas, patients can expect high-quality, customised treatments designed to revitalise and refresh their appearance.
Recommended Treatment: Lip Fillers Anti-Wrinkle InjectionsMisshapen nose
A misshapen nose can have a visible bump (called a dorsal hump) in one place, an indentation close to the tip or drooping of the nose.
This can considerably affect a person’s appearance and self-esteem over many years, but can be effectively treated with non-surgical rhinoplasty.
Factors such as genetics, trauma and surgery can cause a misshapen nose, often becoming more noticeable as a person ages with weakness of the soft tissue support around the nose, and bony changes in the skeleton underneath.
Although this is mainly due to the structural underlying support of the nose, some patients can also have an overactive muscle which accentuates the drooping tip and can be weakened by muscle relaxing injections.
Our Solution:
Owen uses his experience with assessment of the nose to consider nonsurgical rhinoplasty. Fillers help to smooth out irregularities, provide a more aesthetically pleasing shape and ensure the appearance of an appropriate nasal length.
Balance of facial features is extremely important, and so the careful use of dermal fillers can provide the illusion of a short or longer nose depending on the overall proportions of the face.
It is crucial to have an advanced/expert knowledge of the anatomy of the nose and required techniques, particularly given the significant blood supply to the nose. Owen now uses a microbolus needle technique learned from Dr Ayad Harb, the UK’s learning authority on non-surgical rhinoplasty. This gives precise and long-lasting results but done safely, which is essential given the circulation in the nose.
Severe nasal deformity may require surgical intervention, but Owen will assess this in his London and Swansea aesthetic clinic and provide expert opinion on the best treatment plan for each patient.
It is also important to consider the benefits of nonsurgical rhinoplasty in conjunction with other facial rejuvenation techniques and to ensure overall appropriate proportions using the golden ratio and measuring the upper, mid-and lower thirds of the face.
Recommended Treatment: Non-Surgical RhinoplastyNarrow Lips
Throughout time, lips have been seen as beauty’s main aspects with well-defined voluptuous lips being essential for attractiveness.
With selfies being increasingly important, many people are seeking to enhance their looks.
When a person has small or thin lips, the appearance can be perceived as unbalanced or not in line with the whole facial appearance. With ageing the lips tend to flatten and lengthen, losing the youthful appearance and are often accompanied by wrinkles and sagging of the soft tissue around the mouth.
Our Solution:
Dr Thomas undertakes a balanced and expert assessment of the whole of the face looking at the ideal proportions.
Many people worry about having exaggerated pout or “duck lips” and at Infinity Aesthetics, we know it is essential to have a balanced and natural appearance. Dr Thomas uses the Phi golden ratio, which determines the proportion of the upper and lower lip, depending on ethnicity.
Treatment of lips can involve injecting softer dermal fillers into the body of the lips together with enhancement of definition of the border and “Cupid’s bow” (of the V-shaped appearance at the top of the lips). This is performed with local anaesthetic to reduce any discomfort felt and in most cases the procedure is done with a cannula to provide the most natural-looking lips.
Recommended Treatment: Lip FillersSunken Earlobe
Earlobes can give away her age even if the rest of the face looks youthful and radiant, but can be treated with earlobe dermal filler.
This is because as we age, the lack of connective tissue (collagen and hyaluronic acid) and gravity allows them to stretch and develop a shrunken experience.
Our Solution:
Restoration of a sunken earlobe can be done by injecting a dermal filler to restore volume and give a plumped appearance and expand the lobe, producing a more youthful-looking appearance.
Because the area does not move (it is not subjected to muscle forces nearby) it can last considerably more than a year or even several years in some cases.
Dr Thomas always uses premium fillers such as Juvederm, Belotero, Restylane or Teoxane to perform these procedures.
Recommended Treatment: Dermal FillersSunken Eyes
The eyes are a crucial component of a youthful look, without sunken eyes in London. As we age, there is bony volume loss around the eye, making the eye look more sunken and hollowed (a skeletal appearance).
Understanding Sunken Eyes and Effective Treatments in London
Sunken eyes, medically referred to as tear trough hollows, are a common aesthetic concern that many individuals face as they age. This condition is characterised by the appearance of dark shadows, hollowness, and a sunken appearance beneath the eyes, often contributing to a tired and aged look. In London, a highly competitive market for aesthetic treatments, addressing sunken eyes effectively requires an in-depth understanding of the underlying causes and the most suitable treatment options available.
London is home to numerous skilled aesthetic physicians who specialise in treating sunken eyes and other facial ageing concerns. Effective treatment requires a personalised approach, taking into account the individual’s unique facial anatomy and the extent of volume loss. Some aof the most effective treatments for sunken eyes include:
Dermal Fillers: Hyaluronic acid-based dermal fillers are a popular choice for addressing tear trough hollows. These fillers add volume to the under-eye area, smoothing out the hollows and reducing the appearance of shadows. The treatment is minimally invasive and provides immediate results, with effects lasting from several months to over a year, depending on the type of filler used.
Cheek Enhancement: Enhancing the cheeks with dermal fillers can indirectly improve the appearance of the tear trough area. By restoring volume to the cheeks, the transition between the lower eyelid and the cheek becomes smoother, reducing the prominence of the tear trough groove. This holistic approach often requires an expert aesthetic physician to assess and determine the best treatment plan.
Platelet-Rich fibrin (PRF) Therapy: PRF therapy utilises the patient’s own blood to stimulate collagen production and tissue regeneration. When injected into the tear trough area, PRF can improve skin texture and firmness, reducing the appearance of sunken eyes. This treatment is often used in conjunction with other procedures to enhance results.
Skin Resurfacing Treatments: Procedures such as laser therapy and chemical peels can improve skin texture and reduce fine lines around the eyes. By enhancing the overall quality of the skin, these treatments can make the tear trough area appear less hollow and shadowed.

Some individuals can have a chin that recedes into the face with loss of protrusion. This can be genetic or due to trauma.
This causes a lack of proportion in the face, which can be ageing. A strong jawline and definition of the chin is essential for a person to look confident and youthful. Conversely, a weak chin also has the effect of making the nose appear longer, which is not aesthetically pleasing. Over the last few years, it has been increasingly recognised the importance of treatment of the chin and mandible (jaw bone) as part of the overall aesthetic process.
Our Solution:
Dr Thomas will carefully assess the relevant anatomy, typically measuring the Phi ratio of the facial proportions to determine the appropriate chin length and protrusion while considering the effect on other features such as the upper and middle face.
Injection of dermal fillers can make a massive difference to the overall facial appearance providing strong and defined looks and, dependent on the patient being male or female, can masculinise or feminise a face appropriately. He always uses high-quality, robust dermal fillers in this area supported by the underlying bone to produce enhancement that typically lasts for more than 12 months.

Receive expert treatment from Dr Owen Thomas, advanced aesthetic doctor, for a weak chin using high-quality dermal fillers, giving you a strong and youthful chin and jawline.
Using a refined process of a detailed assessment guiding treatment, our London treatment facilities provide the optimal solution for rejuvenating the chin and jawline area. We use a full facial profile of the chin, nasal profile and lips to ensure that profile balancing is maintained following treatment.
As we age, the bone around the chin tends to shrink backwards, giving a less defined jawline and chin. This is what becomes known as a weak chin, which can in turn encourage other signs of ageing to develop such as marionette lines and jowling. Having a weak chin can also affect the appearance of the nose, making it look longer. With successful treatment, a defined chin can provide a more youthful appearance.
Soft dermal fillers not only help to define a dominant chin for both men and women, but can also help to reduce the long-lasting signs of acne. Hollow areas of skin produced by severe acne can be successfully treated with dermal fillers, giving the skin a softer, more radiant and full-bodied look. By using muscle-relaxing injections, Dr Owen is able to relax the mentalis muscle to improve chin projection.

A gummy smile, medically referred to as excessive gingival display, is characterised by the visibility of an excessive amount of gum tissue above the top teeth when smiling. This condition can stem from various causes, some of which are genetic and beyond our control, while others are related to dental hygiene practices, which we can influence to prevent such outcomes.
Our solution
Lip Fillers: For those whose gummy smile is due to a hyperactive upper lip or a short top lip, lip fillers offer a non-invasive solution. Infinity Aesthetics in London uses premium fillers to enhance lip volume, reducing gum visibility for a more balanced smile. This is a longer lasting solution.
Botox Treatments: The most common, minimally invasive option for treating gummy smiles is Botox injections. By relaxing the muscle that rotates the upper lip, Botox reduces gum exposure, offering a quick and effective solution with minimal downtime. Dr Thomas can visualise the muscle with his aesthetic facial ultrasound.
