The amount can vary considerably depending on the state of the soft tissues and how much recession there has been in the bone of the mandible (the chin and jawline). In the chin we select fillers that tend to have a more robust and elastic character to provide volume and lift for the overlying soft tissues. Recovery time varies for each patient and for each type of filler injected. You can resume most activities right away, but it is generally recommended that you avoid intense physical activity for the first 24-48 hours to minimise swelling and bruising.
It is best to avoid touching the area or applying makeup for around 12 hours after treatment and avoid flying for 24-48 hours. It is recommended as a precaution to avoid alcohol for 12 hours to reduce any risk of bruising (although moderate intake is unlikely to lead to any serious issues).
